A psychotherapist and a whole person.

The goal is to see if we’d be a good fit

Historically, therapists were taught to be “a blank slate” as devoid of any personality as possible. We’ve come a long way since Freud was alive. These days, there is an abundance of research that shows that the connection between therapist and client is the most important thing — more so than modality, theoretical orientation, techniques, or any other single factor.

I’m invested in finding you the right therapist

I’m a humanistically oriented therapist who has been trained psychodynamically, and am progressing towards being a certified EMDR therapist. I have over 20 years of experience in somatic practices, including 15 years in classical dance. I have been practicing meditation for 35 years, and mindfulness informs much of my work.

Healing is a journey we all go on.

Life presents all of us with challenges. Therefore we all need help from time to time, whether we seek it or not. I’ve been on the receiving end of some excellent therapy and mentorship, so I know how powerful it can be to get the right help.

My being a trauma-informed therapist is personal: during my early twenties I was diagnosed with PTSD. I found EMDR and Somatic Experiencing therapies to be transformative, and these days I live almost entirely symptom free.

I also live with a chronic pain condition, and am happy to help support folks who struggle with these things in themselves or in their loved ones.

"It's a joy to be hidden and a disaster not to be found."

Thanks

As I have shifted from focusing on my own healing journey to a role of supporting others on theirs, I want to express my deep gratitude for my primary teachers and mentors: Stef Coleman, Anneli Richards, Sarah Foxfire, Adyashanti, Dr. Elizabeth Markle, and Richard Axial.
